SWEEPS:  These are weekly contests played every Thursday (Ladies' Day) except when  tournaments are scheduled.  To participate in Sweeps, you must be a member of Sea N' Air  WGC and have an established handicap.  At least two Sweeps entrants must be in each  playing group and at least eight players must play to make a Sweeps.
Two Sweeps hostesses are needed for every Thursday.  Please sign up to be a hostess on the calendar posted on the bulletin board in the club room.

THE SWEEPS HOSTESS SIGN UP SCHEDULE WILL BE IN THE CLUB ROOM FOR SELECTION OF THE MONTH OF YOUR CHOICE.  FOR MORE INFORMATION PLEASE CONTACT PAT JONES.
CLUB POLICY ON CHIP-INS AND LOW PUTTS

Chip-ins and Low Putts are two separate contests within our Club.  The policy of our Club regarding what constitutes a chip-in and how the number of putts taken is determined is as follows:
CHIP-INS:
A chip-in, by definition, is any shot from off the green that goes into the hole.  Any club may be used and the shot may originate from anywhere on the course except from on the green.  For example, a ball is putted on the green and rolls off the green.  The next shot is struck from off the green and goes into the hole.  The second shot from off the green is a chip-in, as is any shot from a bunker, a hazard or the fairway that goes into the hole.  The origin of the previous shot has no bearing on the shot that is struck from off the green and goes into the hole.
LOW PUTTS
The person with the lowest number of putts in that day's contest wins the Low Putts contest.  Once a player starts to putt from the green, all successive shots count as putts.  For example, a player starts putting from the green. Her putt runs off the green,  Her next shot from off the green also counts as a putt, as do all succeeding shots, since she had started to putt from the green.  If her second shot should go into the hole she is charged with two putts.
(She also has a chip-in, since her second shot originated from off the green and went into the hole.)

Sweeps games are listed on the Calendar page of the web site.  Games may change at the discretion of the Sweeps Chair - Enjoy Your Game!

                      OTHER CLUB EVENTS
PAR PERFECT CLUB
This event is a long-term event played as follows.
It is a FREE game and takes only as long to complete as the individual player requires.  Each ladies day event score can be used to complete this game.
There is a small file box in the Ladies Club Room in which are white cards listing holes 1-18 with lines for the the player to have her score attested by another member of her Ladies Club group for that    day.   Each hole MUST be a PAR for that hole (not net). Once the whole 18 holes are completed showing PAR for each hole, the player will be awarded a beautiful leather bag tag embossed with the SEA N' AIR Logo.
Since this is a no fee event and takes only as long as it takes to get PAR on each hole, it is a fun game.  If you are not already participating, ask a member to show you how to do this event.
                   ACE OF THE MONTH CLUB
Usually occurs on the first Thursday of each month.  The lowest net player over the field wins Ace of the Month.  In January, Ace of Aces is played by the 12 monthly winners.  The player with the  lowest net score will be the Ace of Aces for the year.

RINGER TOURNAMENT
The Ringer Tournament is an additional game played based on 4-month period and is an optional event you may or may not participate in.  The cost is $5.00 for the 4-month period stated and is managed by the Ringer Chair.  When a player joins the Ringer, a yellow card will be assigned to her with her name.  All Ladies Club  events are recorded on the player's card after each event by the individual.  At the end of the particular period of time, the Ringer Chairwoman uses the lowest handicap for the player during that period and establishes the results of that 4 months.  Winners are awarded prize money from the Chair and a new Ringer
event begins.
Pat Lawler is our current Ringer Chairwoman and will clarify any specifice questions.
